14 - Second Green BeltCongratulations on earning your 6th kup (second green) belt in Tae Kwon Do. 14.1 - What You Will Learn in Second Green BeltAs a second green belt, you will continue to refine the techniques you have learned to this point. You will learn three additional Poom Se: Palgwe Sa Jang, Pyung An Sam Dan and Tae Guek Sam Jang. You should be aware that these forms are in addition to the thirteen forms you already know. You must continue to develop the white belt through green belt forms. 14.2 - The Second Green Belt ExaminationTo pass the examination for your blue belt, you will have to perform sixteen forms, all of which the sabumnim will expect to see done with considerable skill. The white, yellow, second yellow and green belt forms should be well developed; the second green belt forms should be crisp and precise — mistake free. You will have to identify the 14 Hangul consonants and the 21 Hangul vowels; you will have to indicate which vowels are simple, which are derived vowels, and which are compound vowels. You will detail each compound vowel's origins. You will read, from the Hangul, all twenty eight form names. All self-defense techniques will be demonstrated; as will all takedown techniques. 14.3 - Specific Information For 2nd Green Belts14.3.1 - Stances learned during 2nd green belt trainingCrane stance 14.3.2 - Blocks learned during 2nd green belt trainingOutward knife hand middle block 14.3.3 - Strikes learned during 2nd green belt trainingSweep 14.3.4 - Kicks learned during 2nd green belt trainingBack spinning heel kick 14.3.5 - Self-Defense techniques learned during 2nd green beltOne step: Advance outside frontstance, outward knifehand block to wrist and grab the wrist as you grab the sameside shoulder with your other hand, step forward with your back foot directly behind attacker's forward leg, and pull your foot back to sweep attacker's forward leg behind you (close to attacker's ankle) as you push forward on attacker's shoulder. One step: Step back into backstance, leading arm to inward block, shift weight onto leading foot and spin backwards on it for a back spinning hook heel kick to the head (attacker must avoid this in practice) One step: Jump up turned 45 degrees on non-punching side of front of attacker tucking both legs under, and roundhouse to the open side ribcage by extending the leading leg in a kick while extending the trailing leg parallel to the floor at right angles.
